Ugly Casanova – Diggin’ Holes EP

Back in September, I got postive feedback on Ugly Casanova, so I thought I would post their two track EP, Diggin’ Holes. This rare EP came out about a month after the bands 2002 Sub Pop release, Sharpen Your Teeth. Neither of the songs on the EP can compete with Sharpen Your Teeth’s “Hotcha Girls,” one of the best songs in the world, but they are both still unique and gratifying.

For those of you who don’t know, Ugly Casanova is the side project of Isaac Brock, lead singer and guitarist of Modest Mouse. You can read more information about the band on my September post. There, you can find out who Edgar Graham is, and rumor has it that he has the last of these hard to find EP’s and will give one to anyone who asks, absolutely free of charge. He will even autograph it for ya. There’s no updated news on the band, and the chance of them releasing another album is slim.  It may even be impossible, given Modest Mouse is on Epic, while Ugly Casanova is on Sub Pop.

Modest Mouse’s new album, We Were All Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, is scheduled for release on March 20th, after Epic postponed the release from December 19 of last year.

  1. I don’t suppose you caught them playing this live when they toured? The show I went to this song went for about 13 minutes and featured a lot of lyrics and melodic snippets that showed up much later on Good News For People Who Love Bad News.

  2. Thank you thank you thank you… I’ve been listening to live version of this song for the last 5 years or something and it’s soooo nice to have a produced version of it.
