You are indeed welcome! And I like/wholeheartedly agree with your philisophy about music. And I have the same problem with reading some reviews, it's like a highly condensed and boring version of a music magazine. They just try to cram way too many band references and such into it, it kinda takes away from the music itself.

Yessss glad you like Mark Wilson. My brother was the one who introduced me to his stuff, so I can't really take the credit for that discovery. But I'll be looking forward to your post on him!

Haha, yeah he got his harmonia unstuck'd. It was all quite amusing, he had to get one of his friends to come help him get it out and said something like "I guess I should comb my hair more." Heh...

G'night!

Alie, thank you for your very nice comments--they make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I think it's important for people to listen to music for themselves, and come to their own conclusions, and it often feels like critics try to push their own opinions down the throats of people who are willing to listen. After reading reviews on sites like Pitchfork, I realize that I only understood maybe 1/10th of what the reviewer said. So instead of bashing bands that I don't like, I only post music that I do like, and the sample mp3's let others make up their own minds.

Also, thanks for bringing Mark Wilson to my attention! I really like his music. I'll probably make a post at some point and will be sure to give credit where credit is due on the great find. Hopefully, he was able to retrieve his harmonica?

Uhhh... no, I am not leaving another comment...

[I just forgot to direct your attention to Mark Wilson, a super cool dude out of Canada who I think is going to be getting some major attention with his upcoming CD. Let me know what you think. I just saw him play a show last weekend and it was great. His harmonica got stuck in his hair. Anyway, http://www.myspace.com/markwilsonmusic]

That description is perfect. I'm picturing driving along in some coastal region with the window down and infinite ocean scenery to the left... now if only I had my driver's liscense. But oh well.

I'd heard a handful of Sea Wolf songs before [You're a Wolf, Middle Distance Runner and Black Dirt] but I haven't listened to the songs in a while. You've got a knack for reminding me to pay more attention to things I've already heard, and also for introducing new and wonderful things to my ears.

And I think I figured out why I like reading your blog so much [aside from the great music]. It's because you writing seems to come from a very real, music-loving place. You don't write with pretentious air that music bloggers/critics can sometimes get. So yeah. That's your thing. Insightful words about music without all the posturing. Nicely done.
