Hey, thanks a lot for the message, CPS. We very rarely run into problems with posting MP3's on the site. The goal is to help share new music, and that's really difficult to do when you can't offer people a chance to listen to the bands. With that said, we are often in communication with bands and labels, and are considered an ally, instead of a nuisance. Really the only time it's been an issue is when it's considered "pre-release" material, and it's just never really a problem.

You make an interesting point about Muxtape and music blogs' similarities too. I guess I see a bit more of a comparison between a site like Muxtape and Hype Machine, which aggregates from various music blogs. At the end of the day whether it's Muxtape, Hype Machine, our site, or yours, I think it's clear that music needs to be shared.

Thanks again the message, I'll be following the Tuning Room.

Interesting as I just started a music site and have been debating how to put up music as I want to do it right and legit. I have always been curious if you all have run into problem with your sharing and disclaimer strategy (which many use and ultimately isn't all that different than Muxtape in the long run)?

thanks for your site, btw--it is an awesome resource for music and info.
